Church Ministries

Welcoming Ministry
Many members carry out this vital ministry as Greeters, Sidespersons, and Hospitality Hosts. Following each Sunday service, we invite you to join us for coffee and hospitality.

Anglican Church Women
The ACW meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except June and July) at 1:30pm. All women are welcome. Please watch the bulletin for special speakers.

Lay Readers
St. John`s has a faithful group of specially trained volunteers.

Bible Study
Bible Studies are conducted from time to time. New schedules are announced in the weekly bulletin.

Youth Ministry
St. John's Sunday School meets during the church service. We have an older group (age 12-15), a younger group, and a nursery. There are usually two teachers present each Sunday from September to June. We invite children to join us for fun and bible exploring.

St. John's News
This quarterly newsletter and events calendar is published by our Communications Committee. St. John's News as well as the Anglican Journal and The Anglican, the national and diocesan newspapers are mailed to our members.

Men's Monthly Breakfast Group
The men of St. John's and any other men that may wish to join us gather for breakfast at the church on the 4th Saturday of each month at 8:00am until 9:00 or so. Our aim is companionship and sharing ideas. All men are welcome.

The Chancel Guild
Each Sunday, the members of the Guild see that the altar is prepared for the services of Morning Prayer or Holy Eucharist, and for the monthly evening service. Flowers are placed on the altar, when appropriate. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving are times when we extend our interest to decorating the entire church. We welcome new members to the Guild at any time.

Music Program
We have talented musicians who lead the music program. Choir practices are at 7:00pm on Wednesdays and prior to the service on Sundays. To enhance the music, St. John's choir has guest artists from time to time such as a harpist, a cornet player, soloists and pianists. In addition to leading the congregation and presenting anthems on Sunday mornings and evensong on the first Sunday of the month, we present Christmas Concerts and other choral events during the year. New members are always welcome.

ACW Quilting Group
Our quilters meet each Monday at 1:00pm (holidays and summers excluded). We usually work on a queen size and one small or crib-size quilt. Proceeds are used by the ACW to support the work of the church as well as outreach concerns of the group. While we do indeed quilt, we also enjoy each other's company over tea, jokes, travel plans, memoirs, problems and triumphs. Any person with or without quilting experience is welcome to join us.
